For the most part, I have stayed away from adding the key commands of Protools that activate when you hit that little a/z button on the right side of the screen in ProTools. I never used them when I was on ProTools. Having said that, maybe they are great! I find that Pro Tools doesn’t really use the QWERTY keyboard or numbers above the QWERTY keypad at all, unless this mode is activated. My thought is I’d actually like to leave some of those keys free for Reaper and Studio One uses that are specific to those programs. However, I’m going to go through all the ProTools ones that seem the most useful and allow those to be activated and mapped.
There is also a mode in Reaper where you can make a little tool bar that would essentially allow you to make the same Key command focus mode that protools has that these additional keys would activate just like pro tools. That is also an option.
Here’s what I have mapped so far:
| A | Trim Left Side of Region to Cursor |
| S | Trim Right Side of Region to Cursor |
